This was a year of First for a young Lady Cats Fast-Pitch Team. It is the first time in Coach Brown's tenure that the Lady Cats have won the opening day game. I believe the win over Afton in the first round regional tournament was the first regional game win in school history. It was the first runner up finish in the regional Tournament, which the Lady Cats lost to a state finalist team (Fairland). The Lady Cats finished 3rd in their district behind a state semi-finalist team (Haskell), and a regional finalists team Chouteau. The Lady Cats had three freshmen make the All District team Tayla Vance as middle infielder, Sadie Brickey as an outfielder, and Payton Jackson as utility. Honorable mention All District included Bray Practor, Macee Sorum, and Terika Hughes. The Lady Cats played a very tough schedule this year with 11 of their opponents being bigger schools than them finishing with a 16-15 record. We gained a huge amount of experience this year and I am looking forward to next year's fastpitch season!
